Concept

To bring together the world’s best sparkling wines in a high-quality setting, the "Le Castel" Culinary School in Dijon. The ambition of this international competition of sparkling wines is to select the best wines on the basis of their intrinsic quality.

Objectives

  • To reinforce quality efforts made by sparkling wine producers.
  • To highlight the diversity and richness of current production.
  • To create a meeting place focused on sparkling wines in order to promote quality efforts.
  • To encourage scientific research and knowledge about sparkling wines.
  • To promote a quality-based approach for the organisation of wine competitions, while enhancing the knowledge of sparkling wine tasters.

Effervescents du Monde®: Commitments

  • To develop synergies with sparkling wine producers.
  • To help spread information about sparkling wines and to further the training of sparkling wine tasters.
  • To help improve the interpretation of tasting data (Partner: Service Action Qualité) by facilitating computerized input/interpretation of tasting data.
  • To implement training efforts in order to accredit “expert judges” for the Effervescents du Monde competition.
  • To put together a wine library of the sparkling wines that have participated in the competition.
